Preparing for Your Visit
At Starr MedSpa, we provide the perfect blend of luxury and relaxation, ensuring every visit feels like a rejuvenating escape. To make the most of your experience, please keep these guidelines in mind:
- If you plan to work out, please do so before your appointment
- Ensure you are not experiencing any cold or flu like symptoms and have been off antibiotics for at least two weeks
- Arrive with a clean, bare face if you are receiving a skin treatment
How do I take Advantage of the Spa Amenities at Both Locations?
- Westlake Village (Spa Relais): To enjoy our spa amenities, please reach out at least 24 hours in advance so we can reserve a spot for you before or after your treatment.
- Studio City (Artha Wellness Center): Enjoy a free one-week trial before or after your appointment. Sign up here: Free Week at Artha.
Cancellation Policy
We kindly ask that you cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance to avoid fees. Cancellations made within 24 hours will result in a $100 cancellation fee.
What Should I Do If I Think I Am Having A Complication?
If you experience any of the following after your treatment, please contact us immediately:
- Severe pain or skin color changes, even in areas not directly treated.
- Herpes or blister outbreaks within 24-72 hours post-injection.

Do you Take Aspire & Alle Points?
Yes! We accept Aspire & Alle points. Our team will check your account prior to your appointment to ensure your rewards are applied & give you points for that days visit.
How far in Advance should I schedule my filler or tox before a big event?
To achieve optimal results before a big event:
- Tox & Filler should be done at least 2 weeks in advance, ideally 1 month prior for the best outcome
Do I Need a Consultation Prior to my treatment?
No separate consultation is required! All consultations are done on the same day as your appointment.

Who is Not a Good Candidate for toxins?
Individuals allergic to eggs, cow, or pig proteins. However most people are safe for this treatment, but all patients are medically cleared by our Nurse Practitioner before receiving treatment.
Post Care
- No working out for 24 hours.
- Avoid saunas, jacuzzis, and heat exposure.
- No pressure on treated areas (avoid hats or facial massages).
- A 10-14 day follow up is always recommended to do any touch ups
Things to Keep in Mind
- Movement gradually returns in 2 months, with full movement in 3-4 months.
- A lighter dose means movement will return faster compared to a full dose.
- Feedback matters! If areas wear off too quickly or feel too heavy,
let us know—we can adjust your dose or placement next time.
- Don't compare providers. Each professional has unique dosing and
placement techniques, which can result in slight variations in outcomes.

Who is Not a good candidate for dermal fillers?
- Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Patients currently on antibiotics or experiencing an autoimmune flare-up
- Those undergoing immunosuppressive therapy or with neuromuscular diseases
- Individuals with active skin lesions, psoriasis, or cold sore outbreaks
Post Care
- No working out or strenuous activity for 24 hours
- Avoid touching the treated area
- Allow 2 weeks for the filler to fully settle into the tissue
- Lip Fillers: Avoid massaging your lips.
We will assess and massage at your 2-week follow-up if needed
Skin Treatment FAQ
Are your skincare products safe during pregnancy/breastfeeding?
Yes! All Starr Clinical products are safe except for the Starr MedSpa Bleaching Cream. Instead, use our Distinct Brite Cream, a plant-based brightening alternative.
Who is Not a good Candidate for SkinPen Microneedling?
- Patients with active skin cancer on the face
- Those on Accutane (must be off for at least 3 months)
- Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals
(treatment is possible without numbing cream)
- If you get cold sores more than 3 times a year,
let us know in case pre-treatment is needed
Post Care
- No makeup for 24 hours (but wear sunscreen!)
- No working out or direct sun exposure for 72 hours
- Resume normal skincare routine after 48 hours
- No swimming for at least 24 hours after treatment
